Here you will have a 2-hour cruise on this beautiful lagoon, with stops for swimming in the pirate bay (from here the pirates attacked the city) and also at the bird island.
Move to the state of Campeche closer to the pyramids of Calakmul.
Stay overnight in hotel in small town Chicanna or nearby.
Breakfast
Day 3 – Visit Pyramid in Calakmul (24.10.2027)
Great adventure of climbing the 50-meter pyramid in Calakmul. First we have to drive 60 km (from the official entrance to the Calakmul archaeological zone) and then another 30 minutes on foot, but after that you will have an unforgettable experience. Calakmul is located about 35 kilometers from the border with Guatemala and was one of the largest and most powerful ancient Mayan cities in all Central America. The city itself covers an area of more than 70 km2, and archaeologists have identified more than 7,000 buildings in it. If you're lucky, you'll also see monkeys, toucans, ocelots, proboscis and other animals. In the afternoon we will cross into the state of Chiapas and spend the night in the city of Palenque.
Breakfast
Day 4 – Visit to Palenque + Misol Ha Waterfalls (25.10.2027)
Visit to Palenque. Palenque is considered the most beautiful Mayan city of the Classic period. The discovery of the well- preserved tomb of King Pakal in the crypt under the "Temple of Inscriptions" in the 1960s made Palenque a cult place. At the foot of the mountains and surrounded by lush jungle, this place creates an atmosphere of mystery. Other important buildings include the Temple of the Sun, the Temple of the Cross and the Royal Palace.
After that, we will go to Misol Ha waterfalls to freshen up. The peculiarity of the Misol - Ha waterfalls is that in the top center of the waterfall there is an entrance to a cave in which there is another smaller waterfall. In the evening we´ll return to the hotel in Palenque.
Breakfast
Day 5 – Pyramids of Edzna + San Francisco de Campeche (26.10.2027)
Return to the state of Campeche. Here first we visit the pyramids of Edzna. Edzna was once a huge city built on a trade route connecting the highlands with the coastal city-states. The most important objects are: Templo de los cincopisos, Nohochna and Templo de los Mascarones.
Move to the city of San Francisco de Campeche. Campeche is one of the most important Spanish cities in Mexico. From there, ships sailed to Spain filled with precious raw materials such as gold, silver, jade, cocoa, etc., which made it a precious target for pirates. After the repeated devastation of the city, the Spaniards began to build an ingenious system of walls and bastions, which were supposed to protect this port from pirates.
Breakfast
Day 6 – Visit Uxmal + Merida City (27.10.2027)
Visit to archeological site, Uxmal, which is equaled only by Chichen Itza in size and importance. Uxmal is located 62 km south of Merida, and like most sites in the Yucatan, the Uxmal buildings look "spooky" because at every turn you will see the face of the rain god Chaak. The wizard's pyramid was also dedicated to him here. You will also visit the courtyard of the nuns, the ball court or the Palace of the Ruler.
In the afternoon we will move to the romantic and beautiful Merida. From the past to the present, this city is the cultural, economic and social center of the entire federal state of Yucatan. During the colonial era, the owners of sisal plantations found their home in it. As a result, this place had a lively trade connection not only with other parts of Mexico, but also with Europe itself, as sisal ropes were exported to Europe from the nearby port of Sisal. Thanks to the sisal boom, the Merida people built its own "Champs-Elysées" Paseo de Montejo, which is still home to residential villas.
Breakfast
Day 7 – Chichen Itza (7th Wonder of the World) + Hacienda Selva Maya (28.10.2027)
Breakfast in the hotel.
After breakfast departure to the Seventh Wonder of the World – Chichen Itza. Chichén Itzá is the most famous, best reconstructed and most visited Mayan city. This city is on the UNESCO list and is one of the 7 modern wonders of the world. Here you will see, for example, the most famous pyramid of Kukulkán (El Castillo), the Temple of the Warriors (Templo de los Guerreros), the Caracol, or Mayan observatory, or the ball game field (Juego de Pelota).
After visiting Chichen Itza, you will go to Hacienda Selva Maya to taste local Yucatecan specialties, where there is also a beautiful cenote Saamal. The cenote is a limestone cave with a crystal clear lake with turquoise water. Swimming in refreshing water is a wonderful experience.
Afterwards, we will make a stop at a tequila, where you will taste a real Mexican drink, and then we will go to your beach hotel to overnight.
